These essays are also written with a broader audience in mind. Science is, by nature, an evolving and uncertain process. But that uncertainty is often hidden or flattened in how science is communicated—especially in areas like health, where the desire for clear answers is strong.

Part of my goal is to make that uncertainty more visible and understandable. Not to undermine confidence in science, but to increase it! By helping readers better interpret scientific information I hope to enable them to make informed decisions about their own health. My earliest essays, including Quiet Writing in a Loud World and Less Noise, More Signal, reflect on these ideas: how to navigate information in a way that prioritizes clarity, context, and signal over noise.
